The same five-minute interactive zakat calculator, with SAR as the default currency. Enter your wealth, see the zakat amount.
Zakat is 2.5% of qualifying wealth held for one lunar year. Saudi Arabia has a unique system: businesses are required by law to pay zakat to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), and individual zakat is paid voluntarily to charitable bodies.
The Saudi nisab
Around SAR 2,000 depending on silver spot. Saudi Arabia is unusual in that scholars there generally use the gold-based nisab (87.48g of gold, ~SAR 25,000) rather than silver, because of the historical predominance of gold-based wealth in the region.
Livestock
Saudi Arabia is one of the few markets where livestock zakat is still relevant for many families. Camels, cattle, sheep, and goats above specific thresholds (5 camels, 30 cattle, 40 sheep) become zakatable in kind — not on the cash value but as a number of animals owed.
End-of-Service Benefits
Treated the same as in the UAE: zakatable when claimable, contested while you're still employed.
