Al-Muqeet is close in meaning to Ar-Razzaaq, with its own precision: rizq is the broad provision of all that benefits, while qūt is the measured portion that sustains. Al-Muqeet is the One who not only owns all nourishment but conveys it, body by body and soul by soul, in the amount each needs to stand.

From the Quran & Hadith
From the root qaf-waw-ta (ق و ت), which carries the classical Arabic connotations of nourishing, sustaining, and feeding; supplying the strength a thing needs; and maintaining, keeping, and watching over. Qūt is the portion of food that keeps a body standing. Al-Muqeet delivers to every created thing the exact sustenance its existence requires, and has the power over every portion.
One mention, vast meaning
As a Name, Al-Muqeet occurs once in the Quran: 'And ever is Allah, over all things, a Keeper' (Quran 4:85), where muqīt carries the senses of nourisher, maintainer, and witness with power over things. The scholars read in the single mention a wide meaning: He sustains bodies with food, hearts with iman, and minds with understanding, and He apportions each kind of nourishment with the same deliberate measure.
Sustenance is measured, not scattered
The Quran describes provision as calibrated: 'And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure' (Quran 15:21). The portion that reaches you today, of food, energy, understanding, even iman, is not leftovers from a general distribution; it is a measured delivery from Al-Muqeet, sized for what He is building in you.
Wa kāna-llāhu ʿalā kulli shay'in muqītā.
“And ever is Allah, over all things, a Keeper.”
Wa in min shay'in illā ʿindanā khazā'inuhu wa mā nunazziluhu illā bi-qadarin maʿlūm.
“And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure.”
Wa mā min dābbatin fi-l-arḍi illā ʿala-llāhi rizquhā.
“And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision.”
Notice how many kinds of hunger you carry: the body's, the mind's, the heart's. Al-Muqeet feeds all three, each with its own food. Bread will not quiet a restless heart, and dhikr will not replace a meal; wisdom is asking the Nourisher for the right portion at the right door. And trust the measure. Some seasons the portion feels thin, of money, of energy, of sweetness in worship. The One who measures is not distracted or short of supply; a portion sized differently than you wished is still sized by Him. Eat what He gives with gratitude, ask Him for increase without anxiety, and feed others from your portion, for the surest way to keep sustenance flowing is to become one of its channels.
Allāhumma qut qulūbanā bi-l-īmāni wa abdānanā bi-ḥalāli rizqik
O Allah, nourish our hearts with faith and our bodies with Your lawful provision.
