The Answerer of Prayers
The Responsive, who answers everyone who calls on Him.
Al-Mujeeb is nearness in action. Between the servant's call and His response there is no switchboard, no intermediary, no office hours. He is the only door that opens every time it is knocked, for every knocker, in every language, at every hour.

From the Quran & Hadith
From the root jim-waw-ba (ج و ب), which carries the classical Arabic connotations of answering, replying, and responding; accepting and granting a request; and cutting through, the way an answer cuts through a question's uncertainty. Al-Mujeeb does not merely hear supplication, which As-Samee already guarantees; He responds to it.
Near and responsive
The prophet Salih (peace be upon him) taught his people the pairing that defines this Name: 'Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive' (Quran 11:61), qarībun mujīb. And Allah says of Himself, cutting out every middleman: 'And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me' (Quran 2:186). Notice there is no 'tell them' in that verse; uniquely, the answer comes direct, as if to demonstrate the very responsiveness it describes.
The response is guaranteed; the form is His
'And your Lord says, Call upon Me; I will respond to you' (Quran 40:60). The scholars, drawing on the Prophet's ﷺ teaching, explain that the response takes one of three forms: the request granted, or a harm of equal measure deflected, or the reward stored for the Hereafter, and on that Day the servant will wish every dua had been stored. Unanswered is not in the list. Delayed, redirected, upgraded: those are in the list.
Inna rabbī qarībun mujīb.
“Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive.”
Wa idhā sa'alaka ʿibādī ʿannī fa-innī qarīb. Ujību daʿwata-d-dāʿi idhā daʿān.
“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me.”
Wa qāla rabbukumu-dʿūnī astajib lakum.
“And your Lord says, Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”
Treat dua as a certainty, not a lottery ticket. The Prophet ﷺ taught that the servant's dua is answered so long as he does not grow impatient, saying: I supplicated and received no answer. Impatience is the only failure mode listed; the response itself is promised by the One whose promises do not break. So build the habit of asking for everything, from guidance down to a shoelace, as the salaf described. Nothing is too large for His power or too small for His care. And become, in your own small circle, mujeeb: the one who answers the call of the distressed, replies to the lonely message, responds when family needs you. Allah keeps helping the servant who keeps helping his brother.
Yā Qarīb, yā Mujīb, istajib duʿā'anā wa lā taruddanā khā'ibīn
O Near One, O Responsive One, answer our supplication and do not turn us away empty.
