Al-Hakeem never acts randomly, excessively, or in vain. Every creation has a purpose, every command a benefit, every prohibition a protection, every delay a design. Where our wisdom is hindsight, His is built into the fabric of the decree itself.

From the root ha-kaf-mim (ح ك م), shared with Al-Hakam, the Judge. Ḥikmah, wisdom, in the classical definition is placing each thing precisely where it belongs: the right act, at the right time, in the right measure, for the right end. Al-Hakeem possesses this placement absolutely, in everything He decrees, creates, and commands.
The most paired of pairings
Al-Hakeem is one of the most frequently mentioned Names in the Quran, overwhelmingly in pairs: with Al-Aleem (the Knowing) more than thirty times, with Al-Azeez (the Mighty) dozens more, and with Al-Khabeer (the Acquainted): 'And He is the Wise, the Acquainted' (Quran 6:18). Each pairing seals a different gap in created greatness: knowledge without wisdom misapplies, might without wisdom oppresses, awareness without wisdom meddles. In Him the pairs are one.
Wisdom you were given a share of
The Quran calls wisdom the greatest of grants: 'He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good' (Quran 2:269). Luqman, not a prophet but a sage, was given it and immortalized for it (Quran 31:12). Wisdom is therefore not cleverness accumulated but a light bestowed, and the door to it is the same as for every bestowal: asking the Owner, then living in a way that can carry it.
Wa huwa-l-Qāhiru fawqa ʿibādih, wa huwa-l-Ḥakīmu-l-Khabīr.

Trust in Al-Hakeem is what remains when explanations run out. Some decrees you will decode years later, standing in the place they were secretly building for you. Others will not open in this life at all. The believer does not need every wisdom disclosed; he needs to know the Wise One personally, and the file can stay sealed. Practically, wisdom borrows His method: pause before reacting, place words where they belong or nowhere, match the response to the moment rather than the emotion. Ask Al-Hakeem daily for ḥikmah; it is the inheritance He called 'much good', and He gives it to those who want it for the right reasons.
