Longing for a child can carry hope, fear, and years of waiting. These Quranic prayers ask for good offspring, a family grounded in Salah, and children who become comfort to the eyes, without promising a result the sources do not promise.
Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibah, innaka sami'u-d-du'a.
“My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.”
The prayer of Zakariya (AS) for a good and righteous child. It is a fitting Du'a for anyone asking Allah (SWT) for children or praying for the goodness of future offspring.
Rabbi la tadharni fardan, wa anta khayru-l-warithin.
“My Lord, do not leave me alone, and You are the best of inheritors.”

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a'yun, wa-j'alna li-l-muttaqina imama.
“Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the God-conscious.”

Rabbi-j'alni muqima-s-salah, wa min dhurriyyati. Rabbana wa taqabbal du'a'.
“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.”

Rabbi hab li mina-s-salihin.
“My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous.”
Ibrahim's du'a for a child. The next ayah tells how Allah (SWT) answered it with the glad tidings of a forbearing boy (37:101).
Wa inni u'idhuha bika wa dhurriyyataha mina-sh-shaytani-r-rajim.
“And I seek refuge for her in You, and for her descendants, from Satan, the expelled.”
The wife of 'Imran said this when her daughter Maryam was born, and her Lord accepted the child with a goodly acceptance (3:37). The words are recited as the verse gives them; their meaning, placing a newborn under Allah's protection, is for every child.
Rabbi inni nadhartu laka ma fi batni muharraran fa-taqabbal minni, innaka anta-s-Sami'u-l-'Alim.
“My Lord, I have pledged to You what is in my womb, dedicated to Your service, so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”
The wife of 'Imran dedicated the child she was carrying to Allah's service while she was still pregnant.
Rabbi inni wahana-l-'adhmu minni wa-shta'ala-r-ra'su shayban wa lam akun bi-du'a'ika Rabbi shaqiyya. Wa inni khiftu-l-mawaliya min wara'i wa kanati-mra'ati 'aqiran fa-hab li min ladunka waliyya, yarithuni wa yarithu min ali Ya'qub, wa-j'alhu Rabbi radiyya.
“My Lord, my bones have weakened and my head has filled with white, and never have I been disappointed in my supplication to You, my Lord. I fear for those who will succeed me, and my wife has been barren, so grant me from Yourself an heir who will inherit from me and from the family of Ya'qub, and make him, my Lord, pleasing to You.”
Zakariyya (AS) called on his Lord privately in his old age, and Allah (SWT) gave him the good news of Yahya (AS).
