The Manifest, evident through every sign, supreme above every thing.
Az-Zaahir is the most demonstrated reality in existence: every leaf, law of physics, and heartbeat is His evidence, displayed publicly, continuously, to every observer. Hidden in His essence from eyes, He is overwhelming in His signs to any mind that looks.

From the Quran & Hadith
From the root dha-ha-ra (ظ ه ر), which carries the classical Arabic connotations of being apparent, evident, and manifest; prevailing and being uppermost; appearing above. Az-Zaahir is manifest in two inseparable senses: evident, through the signs saturating creation, and supreme, above everything, as the Prophet ﷺ glossed it: 'You are adh-Dhaahir, so there is nothing above You.'
Manifest means above
The Prophet's ﷺ commentary anchors the meaning: 'You are adh-Dhaahir, so there is nothing above You' (Sahih Muslim 2713). Dhuhūr in Arabic is the visibility of what is uppermost, as the mountaintop is dhāhir over the valley. His manifestness is His supremacy: whatever rises, He is above it; whatever displays power, His power overtops it, visibly, to whoever reads history and nature honestly.
Signs on the horizons and in yourselves
'We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth' (Quran 41:53). The scholars marvel: He is more manifest than anything, for anything else is known through evidences, while He is the evidence for everything. As the saying of the knowers goes: I never saw a thing except I saw Allah before it, His making manifest in its very existing.
Huwa-l-Awwalu wa-l-Ākhiru wa-dh-Dhāhiru wa-l-Bāṭin, wa huwa bi-kulli shay'in ʿalīm.
“He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is, of all things, Knowing.”
Sanurīhim āyātinā fi-l-āfāqi wa fī anfusihim ḥattā yatabayyana lahum annahu-l-ḥaqq.

From the sleep dua of the Prophet ﷺ: 'You are adh-Dhaahir, so there is nothing above You; and You are al-Baatin, so there is nothing beyond You.'
Atheism's complaint, 'if God existed, He would show Himself', misreads the exhibition. Az-Zaahir is showing Himself relentlessly: in the fine-tuned constants, the coded cell, the conscience that convicts you in the dark. What the eye cannot see, the everything demonstrates. The believer walking through the world is walking through an unbroken display case of the Manifest. Train the seeing. Assign yourself one sign a day, a bird's navigation, your own healing skin, the sun kept at its exact distance, and trace it back aloud: this is His work, on display for me today. Hearts go blind by habit, not by lack of light; dhikr of Az-Zaahir is the daily eye exam.

O Allah, show us Your signs in the horizons and in ourselves, and make us among those with certainty.
