The Restorer
The Restorer, who repeats creation and brings back what departed.
Al-Mueed completes what Al-Mubdi opens. Everything He began, He can return; everything that dies, He will re-gather. The pair of Names bounds all of existence: from Him the origin, to Him the return.

From the Quran & Hadith
From the root ʿayn-waw-dal (ع و د), which carries the classical Arabic connotations of returning and coming back; repeating and doing again; and restoring to a former state. Al-Mueed is the One who brings back: creation after its passing, souls to their bodies at the resurrection, and, in His mercy within this life, what was lost to those who thought it gone forever.
From it, into it, out of it again
The fullest verse of restoration was spoken at a graveside truth every human meets: 'From the earth We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you another time' (Quran 20:55). Three movements, one Mover. The believer hears in it not only the promise of resurrection but the roundness of the whole design: nothing wanders off the map, because every road, including the grave's, bends back toward Him.
Restoration inside this life
Before the great Return, Al-Mueed runs smaller restorations daily: health after illness, provision after loss, iman after dryness, hope after despair, 'and it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired' (Quran 42:28). Yaqub was given back Yusuf; Ayyub was given back family and wealth, 'and the like thereof with them' (Quran 38:43). What this Name forbids the believer is one sentence: it is gone forever. Nothing is, unless the Restorer wills it so.
Minhā khalaqnākum wa fīhā nuʿīdukum wa minhā nukhrijukum tāratan ukhrā.
“From the earth We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you another time.”
Innahu huwa yubdi'u wa yuʿīd.
“Indeed, it is He who originates and repeats.”
Kamā bada'nā awwala khalqin nuʿīduh. Waʿdan ʿalaynā. Innā kunnā fāʿilīn.
“As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. That is a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.”
Loss is the tax of loving anything in a passing world, and Al-Mueed is the Name grief was designed to find. What He takes He can return, here in a form He chooses, or There in a fullness we cannot picture. The believer's losses are deposits, itemized by Al-Muhsi, kept by Al-Hafeez, and returnable by Al-Mueed on the Day reunion is the rule. Meanwhile, practice restoration in His image at your own scale: return what you borrowed, restore relationships you let decay, give people back their rights and their reputations where you diminished them. Those who repair are walking in the shadow of the Restorer, and repairs done here lighten the accounting There.
Allāhumma ruddanā ilayka raddan jamīlā, wa aʿid ʿalaynā mā zawā ʿannā bi-khayr
O Allah, return us to You with a beautiful returning, and restore to us in goodness what was taken away.
