From Du'as from the Qur'an

Rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batilan: the du'a of people of understanding

Quick answer

Our Lord, You did not create this without purpose. Exalted are You, so protect us from the punishment of the Fire. Our Lord, whoever You admit to the Fire, You have disgraced him, and the wrongdoers will have no helpers. Our Lord, we have heard a caller calling to faith, saying, 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins, remove from us our misdeeds, and cause us to die among the righteous. Our Lord, grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in Your promise.

When to recite

Those who remember Allah (SWT) standing, sitting and lying down and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth say this, and in the next verse their Lord answers them. Use it in personal du'a whenever its meaning matches what you are asking Allah (SWT) for. There is no fixed count unless one is established by a cited source.
