Today's verse · dua

Al-Baqarah 2:201

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَقُولُ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

Waminhum man yaqoolu rabbana atinafee addunya hasanatan wafee al-akhiratihasanatan waqina AAathaba annar

But among them is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the next, and protect us from the fire of hell.

Hasten to good deeds

بَادِرُوا بِالْأَعْمَالِ فِتَنًا كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ، يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ مُؤْمِنًا وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا، أَوْ يُمْسِي مُؤْمِنًا وَيُصْبِحُ كَافِرًا، يَبِيعُ دِينَهُ بِعَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا

Badiru bi-l-a'mali fitanan ka-qita'i-l-layli-l-mudhlim, yusbihu-r-rajulu mu'minan wa yumsi kafira, aw yumsi mu'minan wa yusbihu kafira, yabi'u dinahu bi-'aradin mina-d-dunya.

Hasten to do good deeds before trials come like pieces of a dark night, when a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever by evening, or a believer in the evening and a disbeliever by morning, selling his religion for some worldly gain.
