That day

One ayah. One hadith. One name. Quiet things, in their place.

Al-Baqarah 2:197

Alhajju ashhurun maAAloomatunfaman farada feehinna alhajja fala rafathawala fusooqa wala jidala fee alhajjiwama tafAAaloo min khayrin yaAAlamhu Allahuwatazawwadoo fa-inna khayra azzadi attaqwawattaqooni ya olee al-albab

Ḥajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made ḥajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of iḥrām], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during ḥajj. And whatever good you do - Allāh knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allāh. And fear Me, O you of understanding.

Take provision, and the best provision is taqwa. Stock the soul for the longer journey.

Today's hadith · envy
Sahih al-Bukhari 73, Sahih Muslim 816

No envy except in two

No envy except in two: a man whom Allah has given wealth and the power to spend it on what is right, and a man whom Allah has given wisdom by which he judges and teaches.
