The Fashioner of Forms
The Fashioner, the Bestower of Form, the Shaper of unique beauty.
Al-Musawwir brings into existence whatever He wills, in whatever manner He wills it. He says kun fa-yakoon, 'Be, and it is' (Quran 3:47). He is the fashioner of every creation, and He has given each thing a special form by which it is distinguished from every other.

From the Quran & Hadith
From the root sad-waw-ra (ص و ر), which carries the classical Arabic connotations of making something incline, lean, or bend towards; forming, fashioning, sculpting, imagining, or picturing something; and having an inclination or desire towards a thing. From this root comes ṣūrah, form or image: Al-Musawwir is the One who gives every created thing its distinct form.
The completion of the creation trio
Al-Musawwir completes the sequence of Quran 59:24: Al-Khaaliq plans and creates, Al-Baari brings into existence, Al-Musawwir shapes the result and arranges its final form. No two faces, two voices, or two fingerprints are alike; every leaf and every galaxy carries its own signature. Distinctness itself is His artistry.
The Quran points to this fashioning inside the womb: 'It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills; there is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise' (Quran 3:6). And to its diversity on the earth: 'And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge' (Quran 30:22).
A lesson from Prophet Sulaiman
Allah shapes not only bodies but abilities. Prophet Sulaiman (peace be upon him) was a king given gifts no one else carried: understanding the speech of birds and ants, command over the jinn, and rare wisdom. He did not cultivate these from nothing; they were fashioned into him by his Creator, and he knew it. When he heard the ant warn her colony, he smiled and prayed: 'My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do righteousness of which You approve' (Quran 27:19). The right response to any gift in your design is that same duʿāʾ.
Huwa-llāhu-l-Khāliqu-l-Bāri'u-l-Muṣawwir, lahu-l-asmā'u-l-ḥusnā. Yusabbiḥu lahu mā fi-s-samāwāti wa-l-arḍ, wa huwa-l-ʿAzīzu-l-Ḥakīm.
“He is Allah, the Creator, the Producer, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
Huwa-lladhī yuṣawwirukum fi-l-arḥāmi kayfa yashā'. Lā ilāha illā huwa-l-ʿAzīzu-l-Ḥakīm.

Allāhu-lladhī jaʿala lakumu-l-arḍa qarāran wa-s-samā'a binā'an wa ṣawwarakum fa-aḥsana ṣuwarakum wa razaqakum mina-ṭ-ṭayyibāt. Dhālikumu-llāhu rabbukum, fa-tabāraka-llāhu rabbu-l-ʿālamīn.
“It is Allah who made for you the earth a place of settlement and the sky a structure, and He formed you and perfected your forms, and provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord; then blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
Whatever ability you carry, quick understanding, a steady hand, a voice that soothes, patience under pressure, it was fashioned into you before you could take credit for it. Knowing Al-Musawwir removes both arrogance and envy in one move: your gifts are not your invention, and the gifts of others were never taken from your share. In concluding the three Names of creation, we accept that whether we judge a thing good or bad, it is perfect in its making, because this is how Allah intended it to be. He creates what He wills, and when He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is (Quran 3:47).
Rabbi awziʿnī an ashkura niʿmataka-llatī anʿamta ʿalayy
