Al-Baaqi is the answer to the deepest instability of created life: that everything in it is leaving. Possessions deplete, bodies age, eras close. One reality does not attend its own funeral, and everything attached to Him inherits a share of His permanence.

From the Quran & Hadith
From the root ba-qaf-ya (ب ق ي), which carries the classical Arabic connotations of remaining, enduring, and lasting. Al-Baaqi is permanence itself: when every clock has counted its last tick and every ending has ended, He remains, unaged by the eternities, unchanged by the passings.
What is with Allah remains
The Quran states the exchange rate between the two currencies: 'What is with you will end, and what is with Allah is lasting (bāq)' (Quran 16:96). Every act converted to His side of the ledger, wealth given, patience practiced, dhikr uttered, crosses from the depleting currency to the permanent one. The scholars call this the believer's arbitrage: trading the perishing for the everlasting at a rate of one to seven hundred, or better.
The enduring good deeds
Twice the Quran names the portfolio it recommends: 'Wealth and children are the adornment of worldly life. But the enduring good deeds (al-bāqiyātu-ṣ-ṣāliḥāt) are better with your Lord for reward and better for hope' (Quran 18:46). The Prophet ﷺ identified their core: subḥāna-llāh, al-ḥamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illa-llāh, Allāhu akbar, seeds of permanence a tongue can plant at a traffic light, growing in soil where nothing withers.
Mā ʿindakum yanfadu wa mā ʿinda-llāhi bāq.

Kullu man ʿalayhā fān. Wa yabqā wajhu rabbika dhu-l-jalāli wa-l-ikrām.

Audit any day by one question: how much of what I did today still exists in a thousand years? The email, the scroll, the worry: expired by nightfall. The two rak'ahs, the concealed charity, the mother honored, the subḥāna-llāh at the red light: alive, accruing, waiting. Al-Baaqi's economy is open around the clock, and most hours we trade in the dying currency out of habit alone. The heart, too, should relocate. Grief is real, but the believer grieves as a traveler, not a resident: every beloved thing lost here was leased from the Everlasting, findable again with Him. Attach the deepest roots to the only soil that does not erode, and the storms lose their oldest threat.
