Musa (AS) reached Madyan alone and in need after leaving Egypt. At a well, he helped two women water their flock, then withdrew into the shade and expressed his complete need for any good Allah (SWT) might send him.
The word khayr means good and keeps the request wider than wealth alone. Provision may arrive as food, safety, employment, trustworthy people, knowledge, or a path forward. The verse teaches humility without passivity: Musa (AS) helped first, then asked Allah (SWT).
Musa (AS), hungry and on the run, said this after helping the two women at the well. He didn't ask for food, money, or shelter, only declared his need. Allah (SWT) responded with all three. The classic du'a for rizq.
