The Sunnah teaches concise words when rain begins and after it ends, while the companions preserved a remembrance for thunder. Each moment turns weather into gratitude and reflection.
Allahumma sayyiban nafi'a.
“O Allah (SWT), a beneficial rain.”
Said by the Prophet ﷺ whenever he saw rain. Rain is a time of mercy and the dua is answered, make du'a while it falls.
Mutirna bi-fadli-llahi wa rahmatih.
“We have been given rain by the grace of Allah (SWT) and His mercy.”
The Prophet ﷺ corrected those who attributed the rain to the stars, we name the giver, not the channel.
Subhana-lladhi yusabbihu-r-ra'du bi-hamdihi wa-l-mala'ikatu min khifatih.
“Glory to the One whom thunder glorifies with His praise, and the angels out of fear of Him.”
