Luqman 31:12

Walaqad atayna luqmanaalhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna Allaha ghaniyyun hameed

And We had certainly given Luqmān wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allāh." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

We gave Luqman wisdom, saying: Be grateful to Allah. Whoever is grateful is grateful for himself.

The river at your door

A-ra'aytum law anna nahran bi-babi ahadikum yaghtasilu minhu kulla yawmin khamsa marrat, hal yabqa min daranihi shay'?

What do you think? If there were a river by the door of one of you and he bathed in it five times a day, would any of his dirt remain? They said: No, none of his dirt would remain. He said: That is the likeness of the five prayers. By them, Allah erases the wrongdoings.
