At-Tawbah 9:128

Laqad jaakum rasoolun min anfusikumAAazeezun AAalayhi ma AAanittum hareesunAAalaykum bilmu/mineena raoofun raheem

There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you [i.e., your guidance] and to the believers is kind and merciful.

There has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is your suffering, concerned over you.

The river at your door

A-ra'aytum law anna naharan bi-babi ahadikum yaghtasilu fihi kulla yawmin khamsa marrat, hal yabqa min daranihi shay'? Qalu: la. Qala: fa-dhalika mathalu-s-salawati-l-khams, yamhu-llahu bi-hinna-l-khataya.

If one of you had a river at his door in which he bathed five times a day, would any dirt remain on him? They said: No. He said: That is the likeness of the five prayers, with them Allah wipes away sins.
