Qaf 50:16

Walaqad khalaqna al-insanawanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabuilayhi min habli alwareed

And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein.

We created man and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than his jugular vein.

The burden of proof

Law yu'ta-n-nasu bi-da'wahum la-dda'a nasun dima'a rijalin wa amwalahum, wa lakinna-l-yamina 'ala-l-mudda'a 'alayh.

If people were given whatever they claimed, some would claim the lives and the wealth of others. But the oath is on the one the claim is made against.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas.
