Ismi...: Meaning, Pronunciation, and When to Use It

My name is...

When to say it

Say ismi followed by your name. It works for men and women, and the sentence does not change. It is one of the easiest complete Arabic sentences to carry into a real conversation.

This is practical Modern Standard Arabic. Local speech changes from place to place, but this wording is respectful and widely understood.

Tasharrafna is polite and widely understood. Someone may also repeat your name and welcome you.
