Fajr explained
Fajr begins at true dawn, when the first horizontal light spreads across the horizon, and ends at sunrise. It is the shortest obligatory prayer, two rak'ah, and the Prophet ﷺ said its two sunnah rak'ah before it are better than the world and all it contains.
The Quran calls the recitation at Fajr witnessed, meaning the angels of the night and the day both attend it.
