Young Muslims are not merely waiting to become useful adults. The Quran presents youth as people capable of faith, sacrifice and moral courage now.

The people of the cave were young believers
Allah tells us they were young people who believed in their Lord, and He increased them in guidance (al-Kahf 18:13). Their age did not make their faith decorative. It gave their courage a particular cost and beauty.

Youth spent in worship is remembered by Allah
Among the seven shaded by Allah on the Day when there is no other shade is a young person who grows up in worship (Bukhari 660). The hadith recognises the pressure of those years and the value of choosing Allah within them.

Communities must offer trust, not only warnings
Young people need honest answers, useful responsibility and adults who know their names. A mosque cannot ask youth to love it while giving them no meaningful place inside it. Guidance grows through relationship as well as instruction.
Second khutbah
Address both generations. Ask young people to take responsibility for their choices, and ask elders to create room for questions, service, leadership and mistakes that can be corrected without humiliation.
O Allah, protect our young people, deepen their faith and give them courage with wisdom. Make our homes and mosques places where they are known, trusted and guided.
Young listeners can choose one regular act of service. Older listeners can learn the name and concern of one young person they usually pass without speaking to.
