Love for the Prophet ﷺ

First khutbah

    Love that meets a standard

    The Prophet ﷺ said none of you believes until I am more beloved to him than his father, his children, and all of mankind (Bukhari 15). Love here is not a feeling we drum up; it is the kind of love that prefers his guidance over our own preference.

    Salawat

    Sending blessings on the Prophet ﷺ is the most concrete daily act of love. Allah sends ten blessings back for each one (Muslim 408). On Fridays, there is a recommended increase, say it abundantly today.

    Following his Sunnah

    Love is shown by imitation. Pray as he prayed. Eat as he ate. Treat your spouse as he treated his. The smallest Sunnah, kept consistently, weighs more than great occasional gestures.

Second khutbah

After the brief sitting, return to the centrepiece and gather the message into one clear request. Remind the congregation that the point of this khutbah is not simply to understand love for the prophet ﷺ, but to carry one honest change into the coming week.

Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik 'ala nabiyyina Muhammad.
