صِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ يُكَفِّرُ السَّنَةَ الْمَاضِيَةَ وَالسَّنَةَ الْآتِيَةَ
Transliteration

Siyamu yawmi 'Arafata yukaffiru-s-sanata-l-madiyata wa-s-sanata-l-atiyah.

Translation

Fasting the day of Arafah expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.

Narrated by Abu Qatadah·Sahih Muslim 1162
Reflection

One day on the calendar. Two years of accounting cleared. For those not standing on Arafat itself, this is the next best place to be.
