مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ مَثَلُ الْأُتْرُجَّةِ، رِيحُهَا طَيِّبٌ وَطَعْمُهَا طَيِّبٌ، وَمَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي لَا يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ مَثَلُ التَّمْرَةِ، لَا رِيحَ لَهَا وَطَعْمُهَا حُلْوٌ
Transliteration
Mathalu-l-mu'mini-lladhi yaqra'u-l-Qur'ana mathalu-l-utrujjah, rihuha tayyibun wa ta'muha tayyib, wa mathalu-l-mu'mini-lladhi la yaqra'u-l-Qur'ana mathalu-t-tamrah, la riha laha wa ta'muha hulw.
Translation
The believer who recites the Qur'an is like a citron: its fragrance is sweet and its taste is sweet. The believer who does not recite the Qur'an is like a date: it has no fragrance, but its taste is sweet.
