خُذِ ٱلْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِٱلْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ

Khuthi alAAafwa wa/mur bilAAurfiwaaAArid AAani aljahileen

Take what is given freely, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.

Take the easy way, command the good, and turn away from the ignorant, a three-step prescription.

Don't waste water, even at a river

لَا تُسْرِفْ فِي الْمَاءِ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ عَلَى نَهْرٍ جَارٍ

La tusrif fi-l-ma'i wa in kunta 'ala naharin jar.

Do not waste water, even if you are at a flowing river.
