Al-Hadid 57:23
لِّكَيْلَا تَأْسَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا تَفْرَحُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ

Likayla ta/saw AAala mafatakum wala tafrahoo bima atakumwallahu la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalinfakhoor

In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And Allāh does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful -

So that you do not grieve for what has eluded you, and not exult in what He has given you. Allah does not like every self-deluded boaster.

Whoever resembles a people

مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَوْمٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ

Man tashabbaha bi-qawmin fa-huwa minhum.

Whoever imitates a people becomes one of them.

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar.
