Today's verse · patience

Al-Baqarah 2:153

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooistaAAeenoo bissabri wassalatiinna Allaha maAAa assabireen

O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allāh is with the patient.

Patience isn't passivity; it's staying present with God when the easy option is to leave.

Sahih al-Bukhari 6094, Sahih Muslim 2607

Truth, righteousness, paradise

إِنَّ الصِّدْقَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ، وَإِنَّ الْبِرَّ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ

Inna-s-sidqa yahdi ila-l-birr, wa inna-l-birra yahdi ila-l-jannah.

Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man keeps speaking the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful person. Lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire.

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud.
