Ali 'Imran 3:159

Fabima rahmatin mina Allahilinta lahum walaw kunta faththan ghaleethaalqalbi lanfaddoo min hawlika faAAfuAAanhum wastaghfir lahum washawirhum fee al-amrifa-itha AAazamta fatawakkal AAala Allahiinna Allaha yuhibbu almutawakkileen

So by mercy from Allāh, [O Muḥammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allāh. Indeed, Allāh loves those who rely [upon Him].

It was by mercy from God that you, O Prophet, were gentle with them.

Today's hadith · family
Sahih Muslim 1000, Sahih al-Bukhari 1466

Charity to family earns two rewards

Lahuma ajran, ajru-l-qarabati wa ajru-s-sadaqah.

[Asked whether charity given to a husband and to orphans in one's care counts,] he said: They have two rewards, the reward of kinship and the reward of charity.

Narrated by Zaynab, the wife of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud.
