Rebuking the Idolators

This is another call by way of rebuke for those who worshipped other gods besides Allah. The Lord, may He be exalted, will call to them before all the witnesses, and will say:

أَيْنَ شُرَكَآئِىَ الَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ

(Where are My (so-called) partners, whom you used to assert) meaning, in this world.

وَنَزَعْنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيداً

(And We shall take out from every nation a witness,) Mujahid said, "This means a Messenger."

فَقُلْنَا هَاتُواْ بُرْهَـنَكُمْ

(and We shall say: "Bring your proof.") meaning, `of the truth of your claim that Allah had any partners.'

فَعَلِمُواْ أَنَّ الْحَقَّ لِلَّهِ

(Then they shall know that the truth is with Allah,) meaning, that there is no god besides Him. Then they will not speak and they will not be able to find any answer.

وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ

(and the lies which they invented will disappear from them.) they will vanish and will be of no benefit to them.

Когда же все народы соберутся на ристалище, Всевышний Аллах выберет по одному свидетелю из каждой неверующей общины, и они поведают Аллаху о многобожии и порочных воззрениях, которые исповедовали их собратья. Эти свидетели будут выбраны из числа вождей и старейшин, которые правили неверующими народами. Именно им будет предоставлена возможность отстоять интересы своих собратьев, которые последовали их путем. Но как только они начнут оправдываться, Всевышний Аллах скажет: «Чем вы можете обосновать свое многобожие? Разве Мы велели вам поступать таким образом? Разве к этому призывали вас Наши посланники? Разве это было записано в Священных Писаниях? Разве придуманные вами боги заслуживали поклонения? Разве могут они принести вам пользу и уберечь вас от наказания Всевышнего Аллаха? Если они способны на это, то пусть помогут вам и докажут, что они действительно способны на многое». Вот тогда многобожники уразумеют, что истина на стороне Аллаха и что они исповедовали явную ложь. Препирательство не принесет им пользы, ибо их доводы будут неубедительными и будут сокрушены доводами Всевышнего Аллаха. Ложь и измышления будут повергнуты и исчезнут, и многобожники осознают, что Всемогущий Господь вынес им справедливый приговор и заслуженно приговорил их к адскому наказанию.
