أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟ مِنْهُ ۚ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ

Ala innahum yathnoona sudoorahumliyastakhfoo minhu ala heena yastaghshoona thiyabahumyaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona innahuAAaleemun bithati assudoor

"Unquestionably, they [i.e., the disbelievers] turn away their breasts to hide themselves from him. Unquestionably, [even] when they cover themselves in their clothing, He [i.e., Allāh] knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts."

Allah is Aware of All Things

Ibn `Abbas said, "They used to dislike facing the sky with their private parts, particularly during sexual relations. Therefore, Allah revealed this verse." Al-Bukhari recorded by way of Ibn Jurayj, who reported from Muhammad bin `Abbad bin Ja`far who said, "Ibn `Abbas recited, (أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ تَثْنَونِي صُدُورُهُمْ) "Behold their breasts did fold up." So I said: `O Abu Al-`Abbas! What does -their breasts did fold up- mean' He said, `The man used to have sex with his woman, but he would be shy, or he used to have answering the call of nature (in an open space) but, he would be shy. Therefore, this verse,

أَلا إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ

(No doubt! They did fold up their breasts,) was revealed."' In another wording of this narration, Ibn `Abbas said, "There were people who used to be shy to remove their clothes while answering the call of nature in an open space and thus be naked exposed to the sky. They were also ashamed of having sexual relations with their women due to fear of being exposed towards the sky. Thus, this was revealed concerning them." Al-Bukhari reported that Ibn `Abbas said that

يَسْتَغْشُونَ

(they cover themselves) means that they cover their heads.

Всевышний поведал о невежестве и глубоком заблуждении, которые пытаются утаить от Аллаха свои тайные помыслы, но это лишь покрывает их сердца пеленой, поскольку Аллах ведает об их помыслах и видит их деяния. И для того, чтобы изобличить их заблуждение, Всевышний Аллах поведал о том, что Ему доподлинно известно о человеческих поступках даже тогда, когда люди пытаются закутаться в покрывала, а ведь в таком состоянии людям удается совершать самые незаметные поступки. Более того, Всевышнему Аллаху известно обо всех словах и деяниях, которые люди совершают или произносят вслух или шепотом. Более того, Ему известно обо всех сокровенных мыслях, тайных помыслах и наущениях, которые таятся в человеческой душе и которые люди не осмеливаются произнести даже шепотом. Неужели после этого вы полагаете, что сможете скрыть от Аллаха правду о себе? Согласно другому толкованию, в этом откровении говорится о том, как неверные отворачивались от Пророка Мухаммада и беспечно относились к его проповедям. Их отвращение от истины было настолько велико, что при виде Пророка Мухаммада они сжимали грудь для того, чтобы он не увидел их и не обратился к ним со своими проповедями и полезными наставлениями. Может ли быть еще большее отвращение?!! А затем Всевышний Аллах пригрозил неверующим тем, что Ему известно обо всех их поступках и деяниях. Ни один поступок не сокроется от Аллаха, и неверующие сполна получат воздаяние за содеянное.
