What does Tashahhud mean?
The sitting in prayer in which the testimony of faith is recited.
Tashahhud explained
In the tashahhud the worshipper sits and recites At-tahiyyatu lillah, the greetings for Allah, bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. In the final sitting the salawat on the Prophet ﷺ follow it, then the closing salam.
