What does Jumu'ah mean?
The Friday congregational prayer that replaces Dhuhr, with a sermon before it.
Jumu'ah explained
Jumu'ah consists of a two-part khutbah followed by two rak'ah in congregation, prayed in the time of Dhuhr. The Quran commands believers to leave trade and hasten to it when the call is given.
Friday itself is the best day on which the sun rises: Adam was created on it, and there is an hour in it when du'a is answered. Ghusl, clean clothes, going early, Surah al-Kahf, and abundant salawat on the Prophet ﷺ are its sunnahs.
