IFANCA — Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America
ISO-accredited US certifier. Used by major American brands and packaged food in the US and Canada.
IFANCA is the largest halal certification body in North America and one of the most recognised globally. It certifies thousands of products from brands like Nestle, Kraft, Hershey's, McCormick, and many private-label manufacturers.
IFANCA is ISO 17065 accredited, which means its certification process meets international standards for product certification. Its halal scholars include members of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the Fiqh Council of North America. Its standards permit reversible pre-stunning and machine slaughter under specific controlled conditions, similar to HFA in the UK.
If you're shopping in the US, the IFANCA-certified Crescent M logo is the most common halal mark you'll see on national-brand packaged food.
