On good news and on hard news

Kana-n-Nabiyyu salla-llahu 'alayhi wa sallam idha atahu-l-amru yasurruhu qal: Alhamdu lillahi-lladhi bini'matihi tatimmu-s-salihat. Wa idha atahu-l-amru yakrahuhu qal: Alhamdu lillahi 'ala kulli hal

“When something pleasing came to the Prophet ﷺ, he would say: All praise is for Allah, by whose favour good things are completed. And when something displeasing came to him, he would say: All praise is for Allah in every situation.”

Sunan Ibn Majah 3803 (sahih per al-Albani; weak per Darussalam)

The first praise is for good news, the second for news that is hard to bear.
