The world — a prison for the believer

Sunday, October 6, 2024

الدُّنْيَا سِجْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ، وَجَنَّةُ الْكَافِرِ
Transliteration

Ad-dunya sijnu-l-mu'min, wa jannatu-l-kafir.

Translation

The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever.

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah·Sahih Muslim 2956
Reflection

Not because the world is bad — but because the believer sees a better home and the disbeliever sees only this one. Perspective reframes the walls.
