Reward for mercy to an animal

Saturday, June 8, 2024

فِي كُلِّ ذَاتِ كَبِدٍ رَطْبَةٍ أَجْرٌ
Transliteration

Fi kulli dhati kabidin ratbatin ajr.

Translation

In every living being there is a reward.

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah·Sahih al-Bukhari 2363, Sahih Muslim 2244
Reflection

The context: a man gave water to a thirsty dog and was forgiven. Mercy to whatever has a wet liver — that's the bar.
