Monday, March 5, 2018

إِنَّمَا الصَّبْرُ عِنْدَ الصَّدْمَةِ الْأُولَى
Transliteration

Innama-s-sabru 'inda-s-sadmati-l-ula.

Translation

Patience is at the first strike.

Narrated by Anas ibn Malik·Sahih al-Bukhari 1283, Sahih Muslim 926
Reflection

The Prophet ﷺ saw a woman grieving wildly at a grave, didn't recognize him, and told her to have patience. The real sabr is at the first blow — when nothing in you wants to.
