The orphan and I

Wednesday, May 9, 2001

أَنَا وَكَافِلُ الْيَتِيمِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ هَكَذَا
Transliteration

Ana wa kafilu-l-yatimi fi-l-jannati hakadha.

Translation

I and the one who cares for an orphan will be in Paradise like this, and he held up his index finger and middle finger together.

Narrated by Sahl ibn Sa'd·Sahih al-Bukhari 6005
Reflection

He showed two fingers, side by side. Caring for a child without parents promotes you to that proximity. The smallest gap an act can buy.
