Honour the elder

لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا، وَيَعْرِفْ شَرَفَ كَبِيرِنَا

Transliteration

Laysa minna man lam yarham saghirana, wa ya'rif sharafa kabirina.

Translation

He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young, nor recognise the right of our elder.

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr·Sunan at-Tirmidhi 1919, Sunan Abi Dawud 4943
