Allah descends in the last third

Yanzilu Rabbuna kulla laylatin ila-s-sama'i-d-dunya hina yabqa thuluthu-l-layli-l-akhir, yaqul: Man yad'uni fa-astajiba lah? Man yas'aluni fa-u'tiyah? Man yastaghfiruni fa-aghfira lah?

"Our Lord descends each night to the nearest heaven when the last third of the night remains, saying: Who will call upon Me, so I answer him? Who will ask of Me, so I give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, so I forgive him?"

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah. Sahih al-Bukhari 1145, Sahih Muslim 758

A short reflection

The door is open while everyone sleeps. The price is a twenty-minute stretch of willpower.
