wealth

What you have spent is yours

Yaqulu-l-abd: Mali, mali. Innama lahu min malihi thalath: ma akala fa-afna, aw labisa fa-abla, aw ata fa-aqna. Wa ma siwa dhalika fa-huwa dhahibun wa tarikuhu li-n-nas.

"The servant says: My wealth, my wealth. But of his wealth he has only three: what he ate and consumed, what he wore and exhausted, or what he gave away and kept. Everything else is leaving and being left to others."

Narrated by Abdullah ibn ash-Shikhkhir. Sahih Muslim 2958

A short reflection

Three categories of what you actually own. Eaten, worn, given. The rest is being inherited from you while you are still standing.
