Be in this world as a stranger

كُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا كَأَنَّكَ غَرِيبٌ أَوْ عَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ

Kun fi-d-dunya ka-annaka gharibun aw 'abiru sabil.

"Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler passing through."

Narrated by Ibn Umar. Sahih al-Bukhari 6416 · Nawawi's Forty · #40

A short reflection

Travelers don't hoard, over-decorate, or fight over seats. They pass through. Let the dunya be the road, not the destination.
