The sweetness of faith
Thalathun man kunna fihi wajada halawata-l-iman: an yakuna-llahu wa rasuluhu ahabba ilayhi mimma siwahuma, wa an yuhibba-l-mar'a la yuhibbuhu illa lillah, wa an yakraha an ya'uda fi-l-kufri kama yakrahu an yuqdhafa fi-n-nar.
"Whoever has these three will find the sweetness of faith: that Allah and His Messenger are dearer to him than anything else, that he loves a person only for the sake of Allah, and that he hates to return to disbelief as he would hate to be thrown into the Fire."
Narrated by Anas ibn Malik. Sahih al-Bukhari 16, Sahih Muslim 43
A short reflection
Faith has a taste, and these three are how it is found: Allah first, people loved for His sake, and a heart that never wants to go back.
