Al-Birr — righteousness is good character
Al-birru husnu-l-khuluq, wa-l-ithmu ma haka fi sadrika wa karihta an yattali'a 'alayhi-n-nas.
"Righteousness is good character. Sin is what weighs in your chest and you would hate for people to know about."
Narrated by Nawwas ibn Sam'an. Sahih Muslim 2553 · Nawawi's Forty · #27
A short reflection
Two tests. Righteousness lives in how you treat people. Sin lives in what you're hiding.
