Follow a bad deed with a good one

Ittaqi-llaha haythuma kunt, wa atbi'i-s-sayyi'ata-l-hasanata tamhuha, wa khaliqi-n-nasa bi-khuluqin hasan.

"Fear Allah wherever you are. Follow a bad deed with a good one and it will erase it. Deal with people in the best of manners."

Narrated by Abu Dharr and Mu'adh ibn Jabal. Jami' at-Tirmidhi 1987 (hasan) · Nawawi's Forty · #18

A short reflection

Three instructions, each a whole life: God-consciousness wherever, repair through good, kindness with people.
