Hearts between two fingers

Inna quluba bani Adama kullaha bayna isba'ayni min asabi'i-r-rahman ka-qalbin wahid, yusarrifuhu haythu yasha'.

"Indeed the hearts of all the children of Adam are between two fingers of the Most Merciful's fingers, as one heart, turning them however He wills."

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr. Sahih Muslim 2654

A short reflection

When your heart shifts unexpectedly toward good or pulls toward neglect, the cause is not entirely you. The dua is: O Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.
