He calls upon Me
قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ، إِنَّكَ مَا دَعَوْتَنِي وَرَجَوْتَنِي غَفَرْتُ لَكَ عَلَى مَا كَانَ مِنْكَ وَلَا أُبَالِي
Qala-llahu ta'ala: Ya-bna Adam, innaka ma da'awtani wa rajawtani ghafartu laka ala ma kana minka wa la ubali.
"Allah said: O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and hope in Me, I will forgive you for what you have done and I will not mind."

A short reflection
The qudsi hadith continues: even if your sins reached the clouds of the sky and you asked My forgiveness, I would forgive you. Even if you came to Me with the earth full of sins, but met Me not associating anything with Me, I would meet you with the earth full of pardon.
