Every date in the calendar now names its source, from Quran 2:185 for Ramadan to Sahih Muslim 1162 for the fasts of Ashura and Arafah. The Prophet's birth ﷺ and Isra and Mi'raj stay in the calendar as historical notes, with the reasons their dates are discussed, and a switch in Settings lets you hide them. The calendar also says which country's moonsighting it follows, so you know when a date may differ by a day where you live.

A new For sisters space: the private cycle tracker now restores your history on a new phone and keeps one count of the fasts you owe, with sourced guidance on what you can and cannot do. Alongside it, a week-by-week pregnancy journey with authentic du'as, du'as for loss and for waiting for a child, a menopause guide, Women of Islam, and the rulings for Hajj and Umrah on a period. Every ruling shows its source, the schools side by side where they differ. All of it is free.

Scan a lipstick, a cream or a nail polish to see animal-derived ingredients, where scholars differ on things like carmine and alcohol, and an honest note on whether a product lets water reach the skin for wudu. Free, and nothing you scan is stored.

In Memorisation you can now mark any ayah or whole surah as already known. It goes straight into gentle review instead of being taught again, and you can undo it. When you start a surah, Barakah Life asks once which parts you know, and a quiet Skip lets faster learners move on. Thank you to the sister who asked for this.

Finishing your morning or evening adhkar, through Begin or by reading and marking it, now marks the day everywhere, on Today and in the du'as.

The full-screen adhan alarm now opens only for alarms your phone set itself, never for a message from outside. And if you follow a city whose day is behind your phone's, every adhan for that city is now scheduled, including the ones that fell across midnight before.

The points you earn through worship are now called Najm, the star, so the word ajr stays for the reward that is with Allah alone. Your balance is unchanged. Your Hifz review deck now saves to your account, so a new phone or a reinstall no longer starts you over, and 165 reciters are now in the app.

On Android, prayer notifications now play the muezzin you chose instead of the phone's default tone. If you picked a city in another time zone, the Hijri date, your salah tracker and the suhoor, iftar and Friday Al-Kahf reminders now follow that city's day.

The Quran leaderboard shows readers as before, with a tap through to a simple profile: name, photo and the badges you choose to show, never your reading numbers or city. The first time you open the board you can keep showing your name, appear anonymously, or hide from the board, and you can change it any time in Settings, under Privacy. Badges for voluntary worship stay private unless you show them.

The daily hadith now rotates only through hadith graded sound by the scholars in our library, most of them agreed upon by Bukhari and Muslim. Every source added today was checked against the cited text, and surah names now follow one consistent spelling while search still finds every common spelling.

A new Text size setting in Settings makes every screen easier to read, in three steps. Your Quran readers now remember exactly where you stopped, weak or disputed du'as and hadith say so plainly, the masjid du'as are in the library, and hundreds of lines were corrected across all six languages. It arrived as an update to the app you already have, no download from the store needed.

Ahead of the new design's release we went through the whole app, screen by screen. Every Quran reader now remembers where you stopped, du'as and hadith that are weak or disputed say so plainly, and the du'as for entering and leaving the masjid join the library. Every line was reviewed in all six languages, a new install starts in your phone's language, and a screen that runs into trouble now recovers gently instead of closing.

Recite-along now listens across the whole surah without stopping, lights each word as you say it, and marks a mistake only when it is sure. In Hifz you can recite from memory with the words hidden and see the words worth practising at the end.

When you set up Barakah Life you now choose which reminders you want before your phone asks for permission. By default you receive the adhan for the five prayers and nothing more, and you can add others whenever you like.

Meat and poultry without a halal label are no longer shown as likely halal. They now read as doubtful unless the product carries a halal certification.

Choosing a city no longer changes your calculation method or your Asr school. If the app does not yet know where you are, it asks you to choose a city instead of showing guessed times.

A short vote on Today asks which design you prefer, the current look or the new one. Voting is open until 10 October, and you can leave us a message with your vote.

Barakah Life 1.3.0 is with our testers on iPhone and Android. A living sky follows the hour of the day, with lanterns for the prayers, and Today, Pray, Quran, Tasbih and Money & Zakat are rebuilt around it. It also brings new home screen widgets, 76 badges to earn, and the Ummah, a gentle place to ask for and share du'as. It reaches everyone once testing is complete.

Study, Mushaf, Auto, Focus and the guided Friday readings now earn hasanat and count on the Quran leaderboard, just like the Habit Builder. Each ayah counts once a day, at an honest reading pace.

Android now has Barakah Life 1.2.0: Quran and du'as in the car with Android Auto, notifications that reach you on newer Android phones, and a real alarm for every prayer.

Ask whether zakat is due on something and Barakah Life AI answers from cited rulings, leading with your chosen school. You can also describe what you own, or take a photo, and it fills in the calculator for you. It is a study aid, not a fatwa.

The zakat calculator is rebuilt from the ground up. Enter gold by karat and silver by fineness, in grams, tola or other units, and see one clear figure first, with the differences between the schools one tap away.

Faster and steadier on iPhone. The Quran text is checked against the Madinah mushaf, CarPlay is rebuilt, and iPad gets layouts made for the big screen.

Barakah Life in the car is rebuilt for CarPlay and Android Auto. Start with the travel du'a recited by Mufti Menk, continue the Quran ayah by ayah from where you stopped, or play the morning and evening adhkar as one full recitation.

The cycle tracker now sends discreet reminders based on your own pattern, worded so they never say what is being tracked. A new screen shows your cycle at a glance and counts the Ramadan fasts you have to make up.

The Indo-Pak script now uses the same typeface as Quran.com's Indo-Pak mushaf and keeps every pause and ruku sign. Some of these signs were missing before.

After a reader wrote to us about a mark in Al-Fatihah, we checked all 6,236 ayahs against Quran.com. The Madinah mushaf typeface is now the default, so a kasra with a shadda sits below the letter as in the printed mushaf, and tajweed colours now sit on exactly the same text.

A new Quran reader built around your daily wird, with Study, Mushaf, Auto and Focus modes and a Habit Builder that closes each sitting with a du'a. Recite along and the words light up as you say them, Tasbih can count by your voice, and the adhan alarm rings even when your phone is on silent.

Arabic, Urdu, French, Turkish and Indonesian now cover every screen of Barakah Life, not only the main ones, alongside English.

83 Friday khutbah outlines and the Learn Arabic course (phrases, the letters, reading lessons and Quran words with examples) are now in the app as well as on barakah.life.

An-Nawawi's Forty, Forty Hadith Qudsi and Shah Waliullah's Forty join the hadith library, which now holds ten collections, including the six major books and the Muwatta.

From Thursday Maghrib to Friday Isha, the Jumu'ah page walks you through the sunnahs of the day, each with its hadith: salawat, Surah Al-Kahf, ghusl, going early, and du'a in the hour of acceptance. It appears on Today when the time comes.

In London, prayer times now follow the London Unified Prayer Timetable instead of a calculation, with jama'ah times shown beneath.

On Android the qibla compass now uses the phone's gyroscope as well as its compass, corrects for magnetic declination, and shows a level and a wider pointer when the reading is uncertain. On every phone it now tells you clearly when the compass needs calibrating.

Our biggest update yet: Barakah Life on CarPlay, a Quran widget you can play and pause from the Lock Screen, and the next prayer counting down on your Lock Screen through the day.

More than 160 reciters and every translation, including the second side-by-side translation, are now free for everyone. The new Quran player follows the verse text as it is recited, starts from any ayah, repeats and changes speed, and can play the translation in 10 languages.

On iPhones with iOS 26, prayer alarms now play the complete adhan from beginning to end, even when the app is closed. All 26 voices are available at full length.

New home screen widgets: a countdown to iqamah at your masjid, the halal scanner one tap away, and your full day of prayer times back on the home screen.

The Indo-Pak option is now the Indo-Pak script itself, with its text and marks as printed in South Asian mushafs, not only a different font. The script you choose follows you into the adhkar too.

The Quran leaderboard now ranks by hasanat, ten for every letter recited, as in the hadith narrated by at-Tirmidhi, so it rewards steady reading rather than racing through short ayahs.

A new Learn section on barakah.life takes you through five levels: the phrases you hear at the masjid, all 28 letters, and the Quran's most frequent words shown inside real ayahs.

Every du'a with a recording now has a Listen button. Du'as from Hisn al-Muslim play their chapter, and Quranic du'as are recited in your chosen reciter's voice.

Each of the 99 Names of Allah now has a full page: its root, the verses where it appears, authentic hadith with references, a reflection and a du'a.

Barakah Life is now available for Android phones on Google Play.

The Pray page is simpler, with five clear sections instead of nine. The qibla compass is redrawn as a golden astrolabe that shows your distance to the Ka'bah and gives a gentle tap when you face it.

A new Apple Watch app: mark your prayers from your wrist, follow the adhkar after salah, count dhikr, and see the next prayer on your watch face. On iOS 26, prayer alarms can now wake you with the adhan.

Premium gains travel mode for the musafir, a Worship Report, your own Du'a Book, offline recitations, custom adhkar routines, a review system that keeps your hifz from fading, a qada planner and a Hajj and Umrah companion. You can also gift Premium as sadaqah. The Quran and core worship always stay free.

The salah tracker has its own page. Mark each prayer in jama'ah, on time or late, with the twelve sunnah rak'ahs from the hadith in Sahih Muslim beside them, and mark a prayer straight from your home screen widget.

Tasbih now has a full strand of beads that roll under your thumb, thirteen bead styles, and a guided tasbih of Fatimah: 33, 33 and 34.

Mosques and halal restaurants show ratings, photos and reviews. You can add a place that is missing, suggest iqamah times, and leave your own review.

A new deep midnight and gold look across the app. Adhan voices now download when you pick them, which makes the app about 93 MB smaller to install.

In Malaysia and Indonesia the Pray tab now shows the official JAKIM and Kemenag timetables. The Hijri date can also differ by country: in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh it now starts a day after Saudi Arabia by default.
