Khutbah outlines, nikah guide, inheritance calculator
Three new content surfaces for the people who needed them. /khutbahs has 24 Friday sermon outlines sourced to the Quran and authentic hadith. /nikah covers the four pillars of marriage, mahr, walima, and the rights of spouses. /inheritance-calculator explains Faraid with worked examples for the most common family configurations.
6,236 per-ayah indexable pages
Every verse in the Quran now has a stable URL at /quran/[surah]/[ayah] with Arabic, transliteration, four English translations, and audio recitation. Static-generated at build time. The biggest SEO unlock on the site — search engines can now rank specific verses like 'ayat al kursi' or 'quran 55:13' against dedicated indexable pages rather than the rotating daily-verse hub.
Eight new landing surfaces
/app (download page), /who-built-this (author byline for E-E-A-T), /mosques (mosques near me with city directory), /halal-food-near-me, /baby-names with 120 curated names, /ramadan (with the tracker plus suhoor/iftar/last-ten-nights primer), /halal-certifications/[slug] for each major certifier, /family-plan, /zakat-calculator/[country] for eight countries.
City slug diacritics
Ürümqi resolved to /r-mqi, Düsseldorf to /d-sseldorf, Malmö to /malm, Malé to /mal. The slug generator was destructively stripping diacritics. Now uses Unicode NFD normalisation plus a transliteration map for non-decomposable characters (ß, ø, æ, ł). Tested across 13 city names — all clean.
Daily-verse and daily-hadith permalinks
/daily-verse and /daily-hadith rotated content under stable URLs every day, which made Google de-index them. Each curated entry now has its own permanent /daily-verse/[ref] or /daily-hadith/[slug] page; the hubs canonical to today's permalink so Google ranks the stable URL.
Crawl budget reclaimed
Search Console reported 4.2% index rate (41/971 discovered pages indexed) because Google was wasting crawl budget on _next chunks, opengraph-image endpoints, and www vs apex variants. New robots.txt blocks the noise, middleware adds X-Robots-Tag noindex on OG image responses, and a redirect sends www.barakah.life to the apex.

Hijri calibration via AlAdhan
Until now the Hijri date came from the JS Intl Umm al-Qura tables, which run ±1 day off from the actual Saudi moonsighting announcement for Ramadan, Shawwal, and Dhul Hijjah. A daily server cron now pulls today's date from AlAdhan's HJCoSA endpoint (the one that tracks the Royal Court announcements) and the mobile + web Hijri code defers to it. Manual override path included for regional committees that differ from Saudi.

Places — Apple Maps + OSM merged
Mosque finder and halal food finder now combine Apple MapKit POI sweep (across a 3×3 grid for density) with OSM Overpass (raced across three mirrors). Pulls hundreds of results in dense regions like Sharjah and Dubai where the previous version capped at ~20.
