Diyanet — Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı
Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs. Government-backed halal certifier for Turkish products.
Diyanet is the Turkish state religious authority, established in the founding of modern Turkey. While it is best known for managing mosques and prayer times across the country, its food affairs department also issues halal certification for Turkish manufacturers and exporters.
Diyanet's halal standards align with mainstream Hanafi positions (Turkey is majority Hanafi). Hand slaughter by a Muslim is required; reversible stunning is permitted under controlled conditions. The audits are conducted by Diyanet inspectors trained both in religious law and food-science methods.
You'll see Diyanet halal marks most commonly on Turkish exports — confectionery, dairy, and processed meat that ship to the Gulf, Europe, and the Turkic-speaking world.
