Joy at finding a lost camel

Lallahu afrahu bi-tawbati abdihi min ahadikum bi-rahilatih, kana alayha fi ardin falatin fa-nfalata minhu wa alayha ta'amuhu wa sharabuh, fa-aysa minha...

"Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than one of you who finds his lost camel. A man was in a desolate land with his camel. It escaped, with his food and water on it. He despaired, lay down under a tree, and waited to die. Then suddenly, the camel was standing right there. He grabbed its reins and, from the intensity of his joy, said: O Allah, You are my servant and I am Your Lord. He misspoke from the joy."

Narrated by Anas ibn Malik. Sahih Muslim 2747

A short reflection

The image of joy is taken from the most extreme human relief, and named smaller than Allah's joy at your tawbah.
