Envy consumes good deeds
إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحَسَدَ، فَإِنَّ الْحَسَدَ يَأْكُلُ الْحَسَنَاتِ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ الْحَطَبَ
Iyyakum wa-l-hasad, fa-inna-l-hasada ya'kulu-l-hasanati kama ta'kulu-n-naru-l-hatab.
"Beware of envy. Envy consumes good deeds the way fire consumes wood."

A short reflection
An accountant's warning. The deeds keep being deposited; envy is the silent withdrawal. A heart at peace with others' blessings keeps its own.
